When you think “nightlife,” you probably imagine thumping speakers, crowded spaces, and long lines. At The Penguin Piano Bar & Restaurant, we’re creating our own definition of nighttime entertainment and dining in Columbia, MO. We have taken the time to design a spacious multi-level venue that is sophisticated but not pretentious. 


The Penguin has two faces. In the early evening, you can enjoy a refreshing drink and a pleasant listening experience from professional piano acts. After dinner, we loosen up our ties and encourage you to dance as those lilting pianos start to duel. Originally opened in 2004, The Penguin Piano Bar was a must-see experience in the heart of downtown Columbia. It had everything you needed for a memorable time out on the town: great deals on drinks, lively energy, and an amazing dueling piano show every night. After 16 years of service, The Penguin Piano Bar closed its doors during the COVID-19 pandemic. 


The Penguin Piano Bar & Restaurant is a return to the original Broadway location with a new, improved look, while honoring its legacy as a beloved entertainment venue and nightclub. We’re bringing you more dueling pianos and live music, more premium cocktails and wines, and now a full restaurant menu to feed the soul and the stomach! 


At The Penguin Piano Bar & Restaurant, you can be yourself and have a conversation with the people around you over a savory meal inspired by your classic American bistros. To keep the party going, our live acts will play after dinner hours and into the night for guests 21 years old and up. Come in and request your favorite throwback track, or join in on a night of Keyboard Karaoke! Who knows what exciting shows and specials await you?
